Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of Luxor, Esna and their surroundings, we regularly work with trusted local collaborators to offer you a seamless experience in the region : if you need a private driver, taxi or mini-bus; airport / train station transfer, or you want to explore the area on a bike -we have the contacts. If you want to try original activities, or have restaurant recommendations - you name it & we will do our best to help you.

Day Trip to Esna with Janet as your guide

Esna has so much to offer with its rich history & unique traditions & is only 1 hour from Luxor.

From the magnificent, recently restored Khnum Temple to the Bakkur oil press, the renovated Ottoman caravanserai, the Coptic monastery & churches, its ancient market and traditional crafts & culture, to name but a few - your day will be full!

A day trip to Esna, with a private driver, allows you to see another authentic side of Upper Egypt.

You have the option to support a local women's association by booking a delicious freshly-made 3 course lunch showcasing traditional recipes from Esna.

Camel / Donkey / Horse riding

Take a relaxing trip on a donkey & cart!

We work with a local family who offer tours of the surrounding villages where you can see typical village homestead farms, traditional bread ovens, local pigeon towers and everyday life. Suitable for all ages.

We also regularly work with a stable who offers rides on horses, camels or donkeys on the West Bank.

All the animals are well-cared for and calm. Suitable for adults and children.

Restaurants& Cafés

We will be pleased to advise you on authentic local restaurants & cafés which offer freshly-prepared food at honest prices. They all have an extensive menu & deliver freshly-prepared meals to Villa Nakhil, our felucca or the motorboat.

Balloon Trip

A fantastic experience - not to be missed. Fly over the ancient temples & monuments & see the expanse of the Theban mountains & desert. We work closely with a reputable balloon company. There are two flights in the morning - sunrise & early morning. Guests are picked up and brought back to Villa Nakhil.

Prices vary according to the season. Cancellations are fully refundable.

Cycling

In the cooler months it's great to explore the West Bank on a bike. We can organize half & full-day rentals. Bicycles will be delivered & picked up at the Villa at no extra charge.
